OK, I guess there are no boxing fans out there.! Well, I was wrong about hopkins and pavlik. What an upset! Hopkins is almost as old as I am. Thats one for us old guys.
I got the other 2 results rights, but not exactly how I predicted them.

Tom,

There was a time I could name the top 10 contenders in every weight division, even after some of the "Super" and "Junior" divisions became sort of legitimate, but I have to admit i wasnt even aware of any of the 3 fights you just mentioned or who the champs were. Bernard Hopkins is the only one of those that I even heard of.

I guess I stopped following boxing at about the time sugar Ray Leonard started making all these comeback attempts (and winning a lot of them, too!) and everyone else followed suit. In my mind, it made boxing even more like wrestling.

After the Ali, Foreman, Norton, Fraizer, era it was hard to get into boxing. Tyson and a few others kept my interest for a while. Roy Jones, Evander Holyfield, and a few in other divisions. Once Tyson left Cuz D'Matto's camp, the thug in him ran rampart. I think he could of been ranked as one of the best, but he choose to go whacky. Maybe it's the big bucks, who knows. Every once in a while I'll follow a boxer that has some pazazz, but right now I'd rather watch Boxing's Greatest Hits when one of the cable stations air it.

I used to enjoy watching boxing. I'm not sure why I lost interest. Then again, it seems like everyone lost interest.

I think payperview ruined boxing. Boxing used to be free, thats why they have to bring back the old fighters of the 90's and even 80's. No one knows who the new champs are.
The UFC seems to be taking off, because they have a lot of free fights. Boxing needs to go back to showing free fights again to regain the interest of the general public.
Bernard Hopkins definetly surprised me by defeating Pavlik as easily as he did, but that tells me Pavlik isn't as goog as I thought.
The next big fight will be Roy Jones Jr. against Joe Calzaghe. I think Calzaghe will stop Jones in 8. I can't be wrong all of the time.
Jones is the last great fighter of this era, but his time has passed a long time ago.

I'll make a point not to miss that one.
When is it? I assume its pay-per-view.

I didn't see this fight yet, but Calzaghe beat Jones soundly. I am surprised Jones didn't get knocked out.!
