Yesterday, I atttended a memorial concert in the theater at Fort Hamilton in honor of the Four Chaplains.
What a marvelous story. The link below will take you there. It is truly inspiring and beautiful. If you need a lift, this is it. The concert was not made up of dirges, or exceedingly happy stuff. The music was so appropriate for the occasion. Just beautiful. The (all volunteer) Concert Band's Conductor, Maestro Irwin Meyer, will be 91 soon! The event is open to the public. Try to go next year! http://www.homeofheroes.com/brotherhood/chaplains.html You can read the story which is accompanied by the lovely melody of the song made famous by Al Hibbler, "He". Lyrics below. He He can turn the tides and calm the angry sea He alone decides who writes a symphony He lights ev'ry star that makes the darkness bright He keeps watch all through each long and lonely night He still finds the time to hear a child's first prayer Saint or sinner calls and always finds him there Though it makes him sad to see the way we live He'll always say "I forgive" He can touch a tree and turn the leaves to gold He knows every lie that you and I have told Though it makes him sad to see the way we live He'll always say "I forgive" He forgives

You're welcome Barbara. Maybe you'll come to the Concert next year. Do you remember the song / hymn "He"? It was a long time ago. You can hear it on Youtube.
